Tropical World

Visited one of Leeds’ top tourist attractions today! We had the sister in law & boyfriend visiting from London, and as the weather was not great we needed an indoor activity.

Every time we go to Tropical World I am impressed. It’s run by the council (surprisingly well!) and is easily an hour’s interest for only about £3 per adult.

The building is small, but like a tardis – housing butterflies, birds, meercats and lots of creepy bats/snakes and insects. It’s arranged into distinct areas and there are some lovely plants and water features in the main butterfly enclosure. For some reason they all wanted to land on Tom’s head today, which was quite amusing!

Well worth a visit, especially on a miserable day.

Tom & La’s Last Hurrah (TLLH)

Ok, T-10 weeks til baby and we’ve got a week’s annual leave. It’s our last holiday for just the 2 of us and we’re going to make the most of it!

Day 1
* We’ve hit London and checked into hotel Bob & Ben (it’s great to have such kind relatives!)
* Eli’s birthday celebrations! What a lovely evening spent on the roof terrace of a lovely art deco building. Lots of old and new friends enjoying a few drinks looking out across the beautiful London skyline. And Cate made birthday cupcakes (a good nod to national cupcake week!)

Now off to bed with a great itinerary planned for tomorrow! (Thanks to Sam for great suggestions!)
